Integrated Emergency Response Systems
Schools and University Campuses
Not too many years ago school security was rarely discussed by parents and school faculty. Unfortunately the reality of increasing gang activity and violence (bullying in schools has changed all of that. PHC Technology Ltd. has developed security systems for schools and campuses. Junior high and high schools can issue duress pendants to teachers, and universities can issue duress pendants to faculty and students. Other security systems such as door alarms and asset protection can be seamlessly integrated into this system.
Wireless Emergency Call Pendants
Wireless Emergency Call Pendants are carried by teachers, professors, administrators and faculty so they can call for help immediately, should a threatening situation occur. The Campus Integrated Emergency Response System will accommodate thousands of these devices if needed. Other wireless transmitters may be used to monitor doors, motion detectors, glass break detectors, or other equipment.
Location
Locators will reveal the location of a staff person who is requesting help so you know not only who is in trouble but where he or she is. All wireless devices are continually and automatically supervised by the system so you know they are functioning.
Alarm Scheduler
A sophisticated scheduler allows you to customize the arm/disarm times for individual doors or devices, so that each may be armed for a different time window.
Asset Tracking
Wireless motion sensing devices may be attached to computers or other valuable assets so that any attempt to remove them from a user defined area creates an alarm. Any movement within the defined area will not create an alarm.
Guard Tour
The Campus PHC Technology Ltd. will provide immediate notification if a guard tour station has not been posted (visited) within a user defined time period. All guard tour events are posted in real time as they happen. All events are posted with date and time and touring guards may report and log circumstances such as finding an unlocked door, broken window, or hazardous material.
Personnel Tracking
This system locates key personnel on demand. Each staff person carries a wireless duress transmitter that constantly transmits a locating signal. Wireless locating devices, placed according to need and design throughout the facility log the location of the person as they move from place to place.
Equipment Monitoring
Alarms and events from equipment such as temperature detectors, water presence indicators, HVAC alarms, toxic gas detectors, motor on/off status, and fire alarm systems may be monitored and broadcast over hand held two-way radios.
Parking Garage Security and Integration
The Parking Emergency System by PHC Technology Ltd. is the pivotal kingpin in providing total automation of parking garage security and parking payment. A single attendant assigned to a small roving truck or all-terrain vehicle can service all of the needs of your customers even in very large parking facilities. Reset computers, open re-circulation gates to resolve problems, provide information to any of the information intercom stations, receive announcements of emergency call alarms, open or lock doors, answer the telephone, and more. All of these functions can be performed by your attendant from anywhere in the facility.
Alarm and Intercom Stations
The Parking PHC Technology Ltd. security stations allow parking customers to signal roving staff by pocket page or wireless telephone announcement. An intercom path opens between the security station and the wireless telephone so that the customer's problem may be addressed. This eliminates having to staff a security desk for this purpose. Alarms and events may be routed to any of wireless telephone or pocket pagers so that staff persons hear only alarms assigned to their area.
Wireless Panic Alarms
Wireless emergency call pendants may be issued to monthly customers, and locators will indicate the position of the person who activates their pendant.
Software
The PHC Technology Ltd. software provides a stellar smorgasbord of features allowing ultimate flexibility in addressing the most demanding and unique circumstances. And it is as easy to use as it is powerful. To follow is a partial list of the more commonly used features.
Acknowledge Alarms and Events
Staff persons acknowledge alarms and events by entering their unique acknowledge ID number either at the computer or on a hand held pocket pager/wireless telephone keypad. This creates a trail of accountability on the part of responding staff persons.
Acknowledge Groups
Personnel may be assigned to specified acknowledge groups which will define which alarms or events may be acknowledged by that person. For instance, a staff person assigned to floor 3 would only be able to acknowledge alarms from that floor. This allows staff to enter their acknowledge code while leaving other alarms that are not assigned to them in the acknowledge queue.
Alarm Event Colors
A wide range of colors for background and foreground screen display are available for any event. This allows operators to easily distinguish between alarm types such as emergency call and smoke detectors.
Arming Groups (partitioning)
Any group of detection devices such as door contacts and motion detectors may be assigned to an arming group. An unlimited number of partitions may be created in the software. Arming groups may be armed and disarmed by a single event such as a key switch or keypad. Each arming group may have any number of devices assigned to it.
Back-Up, Automated
Set up a daily or weekly timer event or any other event to automatically back up the database and history file to a high capacity removable storage disk.
Easy Set Up
A set up wizard allows configuring many devices with templates. This greatly simplifies and shortens the amount of time needed to set up all event conditions, commands and announcements.
Equipment Control
Turn lights on or off, open parking gates, release door locks, activate the lawn sprinkler, and turn on the coffee pot. Do this manually with configurable keyboard commands, from a hand held long range wireless telephone, or by a user defined time schedule.
Event Comments
Staff can add comments to alarms and events thus enhancing the ability to manage facility response efficiency.
Fail to Acknowledge
Set up a time window to recognize a failure to acknowledge. For instance we may set 3 minutes to be an acceptable acknowledge time window. If an acknowledge to any alarm is not received in that time, we can create a "Fail to acknowledge" event. This in turn may be used to announce via radio or activate a relay attached to a buzzer, area wide pager or typical voice message telephone dialer.
Fail to Restore
The same as "Fail to Acknowledge" but for the restoral of an alarm device or event.
Multi-tasking
Multi-tasking allows running other software programs such as a word processor on the same computer.
Password Security
Unlimited passwords can be assigned to any combination of software configuration modules providing flexible and comprehensive system security. Staff will be able to access windows and functions depending on their assigned security level.
Missing Event Monitor
If a scheduled event does not happen, create an alarm to report the failure to staff.
Momentary Disable
For a user, defined number of seconds, disable any alarm or arming group. For example use a wireless keypad or key switch to shunt or disarm a door for 10 seconds (variable) to allow ingress and egress.
Momentary Delay
Allow any device or event to report in but delay acting on it for a user-defined period of time. For example, allow a door to open and close within 10 seconds but create an alarm if it is propped open.
Reports Galore
A robust report generator allows filtering and sorting by any alarm information. Once a particular report format has been defined, it can be saved for future use. These detailed reports help managers manage more effectively.
Emergency Call Or Equipment Information
Store information for residents: such as who to contact, medications, and doctor's number. Also store information for equipment: what to do, who to call, and how to respond.
Scheduler
A sophisticated scheduler allows events such as alarms to be ignored according to a time schedule. A time schedule is composed of a time window and specified days of the week. Holidays may be scheduled in as exceptions to regular schedules.
Third Party System Integration
Our in-house programming staff is ready and able to integrate the output of any third party system (i.e. fire alarm panels, HVAC control computers) for the purpose of logging events and broadcasting alarms via hand held long range telephones for immediate and efficient response. Many name brand systems are already integrated.
Time Taken to Acknowledge/Restore
A record is kept for each event showing the amount of time taken to acknowledge an alarm or event and also the time taken to restore the alarm condition.
Timer
Timer events can be set up to initiate any set of commands such as turning on a relay or announcing the time over hand held wireless telephones. Control anything such as lights or lock and unlock doors based on a time schedule.
WAV Files
Attach any WAV file to the beginning of a voice announcement. Have fun with sounds and sayings from movies, cartoon characters, or anything you want
